Ralph Lauren Presented the Fall 2017 Runway Collection
Debuting against the backdrop of his storied automotive collection
Ralph Lauren presented the Fall 2017 Fashion Show in a unique immersive experience on Tuesday, September 12th at Ralph’s Garage in Bedford, New York. Set against the backdrop of one of the world’s most esteemed automotive collections, the event invited guests into a world driven by Ralph Lauren’s passion for automobiles and classic, enduring style.
“My cars have always been an inspiration to me. I see them as moving art. My women’s collection for Fall 2017 connects the elements of the speed, style and beauty of these handcrafted vehicles with the very modern, yet timeless spirit of the clothes. There is a sleekness, an innate sexiness and power to shapes sculpted out of high-tech patent leathers and high gloss silks,” said Ralph Lauren.
Complementing the spirit of the modern, timeless woman and the sleek designs of the automotive collection, Men’s Purple Label was shown alongside the women’s runway collection.
“To heighten the experience, men wearing looks from my Purple Label Collection will join the women on a runway lined with my cars in the pristine environment of my garage. This will create the ultimate expression of style and luxury for the woman and man of today,” said Ralph Lauren.
Continuing on the success of his past two runway-to-retail collections, all looks from the show were instantly accessible to consumers globally as Ralph Lauren continues to lead the evolution of the consumer shopping experience. Taking accessibility a step further, select accessories, including the Houndstooth Celia Pump and the RL Bucket Bag, were made available for purchase before they walked the runway.
Items from the Fall 2017 collection were immediately available on Ralphlauren.com and in global flagship stores, including New York, Beverly Hills, London, Paris, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Shanghai and through top retail partners including Saks Fifth Avenue, Moda Operandi, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman.
The experience was also made available to consumers worldwide through a live stream on Ralph Lauren’s global social media platforms and on RalphLauren.com. A ‘Road to Runway’ social experience during the 24-hours prior to the show took place on Instagram Stories, giving consumers an exclusive look at the making of.
Following the show, guests were invited to an intimate, seated dinner at the garage and were served a menu inspired by The Polo Bar, in a true expression of the world of Ralph Lauren.
