“It is something that is better felt than described,” as best explained by Founder, Yasin Saleh. “The team works very hard to provide a top-quality platform of service and product within an ambient atmosphere, which we hope is worthy of any international city.”
Little Black Door (“LBD”) is an “Urban Cocktail Lounge” and is Made from Experiences that has now been Creating Experiences for the Dubai hospitality scene for the last two years. In a market, which is currently flooded with concepts that often dilute the quality of F&B offerings, it has managed to sustain and merge the perfect mix of service, cocktails, food, interior design and music.
The primary ethos both from an overall brand and design perspective is a focus on “Urban Understated Elegance.” More specifically, contemporary style ideas mixed with historically attractive hospitality foundations and social protocols.
Little Black Door affords a unique Atmosphere, which can remain in a state of intimate ambiance permitting personal one-on-one dates and discrete business meetings or on the other hand it can morph into a higher state of party hedonism later into the night.
LBD (as it is known by most of its patrons) imposes a ban on champagne sparklers when celebrating bottle purchases shunning the need for overt “bling” focusing more on substance and patron involvement via the gong, which overlooks all of the social festivities, that steals the show especially when the night starts reaching its apex!!
Designed with tremendous attention to detail, it features a unique combination of European old-world elegance and New York warehouse charm. Its materials have been sourced from all over the world comprising custom made crystal chandeliers, candlelit fireplaces, exposed brick walls, and an infinity mirrored whiskey decanter lit hallway.
Since it’s opening, Little Black Door was recognized for its design excellence by being awarded “Best Interior Arabia” at the International Property Awards 2017 at the Savoy Hotel in London.
Music is a perfect expression of creating and enhancing feelings. Little Black Door exposes you to various kinds of music ranging Jazz & Soul on Sundays, Old School Hip Hop on Tuesdays, Motown & Funk on Wednesdays, a mix of Party and Retro tunes on Thursdays and Fridays and a unique presentation of Micro House on Saturdays.
With a DJ booth centering the bar, it is clearly evident that music is of importance and with a ceiling covered by recording studio sound-proofing; it is signal to the patrons that Little Black Door is prepared to accommodate wherever the beat levels may go.
Sound foundations for good product sourcing combined with classic principles dictate a spirit of mixing styles and cooking techniques. However adding the contemporary urban interpretations also affords creativity and avoids any form of pretentiousness.
The food menu is well thought-out and ranges from Fois Gras Hotdogs, Truffle Piandina Flatbreads and Braised Short Ribs. There are also healthy options such as Quinoa, Salmon Lattuga Wraps and Pan Fried Sea Bass.
There is something for every taste palate whether it is for a bar finger foods or a full-course meals.
However, in the end it is the cocktails that are LBD’s offered excellence. Again premised around Urban Understated Elegance, the cocktails tend to have a classic focus with a masculine base and subtle feminine accents.
With a bartending team that is a combination of experienced of Dubai noteables deriving from La Petite Maision and La Serre in Dubai; in addition to a former member of the international renowned, Hotel Costes in Paris.
Their level of excellence was recently highlighted by Head Bartender, Jeremias Barna who was the winner the UAE World Class Competition 2017 and was flown to represent the Emirates the World Class Global Finals in Mexico City.
Similar to their food menu, the cocktail menu has something for everyone and has just featured a Limited Edition Patron Reposado Hand Picked Barrel by Little Black Door.
Trust us, you will not be disappointed when you step up to the long mirrored copper bar.
After two years, Little Black Door has cemented its place among Dubai’s hospitality scene. It has stayed strong to its principles and authenticity and we look forward to seeing what it has in store next.
