On 13 September, Chinese designer Victor Wong presented his latest collection for the third time as part of the London Fashion Week official schedule.
Themed as ‘neuATLANTIS,’ this collection originates from his exploration of natural bodies of water – the unrestrained possibilities generated from their free movements and the consequential changes of textures, interactions of lights, and overlays of colours.
Here, Victor Wong extends his bold, confident and futuristic aesthetic approach, as well as his imaginative and fluid signature eyewear silhouettes, to combine with the unpredictable motions of water.
With the designer’s interpretation, hard materials are transformed into soft and vivid shapes. The resulting looks with mesmerising combination of colours are again a powerful statement challenging the eyewear tradition.

Stepping into the presentation of Victor Wong’s spring/summer 2020 collection is walking into 200 years from now – lands sinking into seas, a fantasy of a future Atlantis, just the way Plato wrote about in Timaeus.
Having adapted to the underwater life, human beings in this world have evolved into a new species with multiple eyes, fish-gill-like ears, webbed feet and long noses that detect the water surface from under. Only a few remains around them are the reminder – all that are today will only be the history of tomorrow.
