Dubai Vegan Days, Flavors by Zendy and The Rove Healthcare City celebrates the Holy Month of Ramadan with a 5-course Vegan Iftar Menu
Celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan at The Daily restaurant in Rove Healthcare City with a delectable, harm-free, vegan Iftar featuring plant-based creations from master vegan chef Zendy Marsam and grains and superfoods from Rootz Organics. Following the success of Dubai Vegan Days’ series of dining experiences, this unique Iftar menu allows vegans, supporters, friends and family alike to come together to break fast in a way that elevates traditional favorites and brings vegan dishes to the centre of the table.
The Iftar menu features five courses, a reflection of the Five Pillars of Islam – the five principles that provide a framework for life for Muslims throughout the world. The menu focuses on conscious eating, pacing diners through courses that allow for both reflection and festivity.
In line with religious tradition, the fast will be broken with a Date Medley, featuring refreshing water, natural dates, dates stuffed with pistachio, and a date with orange and pecan. To begin Iftar, a light bite is best to replace fluids and prepare a fasting stomach for more filling foods. The menu’s Fluid Replacement Course offers soups, smoothies and nutritional shots expertly crafted to break fast in a healthy manner.
For the Salad and Vegetable Course, Rove’s Salad Buffet will be a garden of fresh fruits, vegetables, vegan dressings and more allowing diners to pick their favorites and create their own plates.
The Grains and Protein course will feature dishes that highlight the two building blocks of energy and fibre in a healthy vegan diet. For the Main Course Platter, diners are invited to indulge in fragrant roasted tempeh with smoked BBQ sauce; rich mushroom, barley and okra stew; hearty jackfruit curry with millet; and an array of side dishes that will delight vegans and non-vegans alike.
To complete the experience, the menu will offer refreshing watermelon and a silky raw chocolate orange cake. Shopaholics will be pleased to hear that a vegan pop-up market will also be at the event. The Rove Vegan Iftar Menu is just AED 99 for adults and AED 49 for kids. The demand for vegan-inclusive iftar options has never been higher, so book your table early!

About Dubai Vegan Days
Dubai Vegan Days was launched and conceived Ananda Shakespeare, as a way of helping people enjoy and learn more about veganism, ethical living and how to live with more compassion. Each event brings people together to enjoy good food, good company and good products, and hopefully encourage fun, learning and friendship. We encourage dialogue and information-sharing around veganism, but are not preaching hippies.

While intelligent and well-informed people have been choosing not to consume animals or animal products since the dawn of civilisation, the term ‘vegan’ was coined in the UK in 1944. A man named Donald Watson invented the term vegan when he co-founded the Vegan Society. At first, he used it to mean "non-dairy vegetarian", but from 1951 the Society defined it as "the
doctrine that [people] should live without exploiting animals.
