We based TheWhiskey on our love for burgers, rock and roll, and of course whiskey!
So, I’ve been shy recently to go out & eat with friends because I feel as though I may be difficult when ordering plant-based options at a restaurant. I decided to test my theory instead of avoiding the option altogether. I invited 2 of my (non-vegan) friends to join me at a place known specifically for their meat dishes. I chose a popular destination for gourmet burgers & craft cocktails, but you wouldn’t believe how great the options were once altered to fit my plant-based needs!
First we tried the appetizers of house made hummus with fresh basil pesto, garlic oil, served with warm pita, carrots, and celery. My friends particularly loved the new item of Fig FlatBread, & all our absolute favorite was the Fried Mushrooms.
We also favorited the Melon Salad which came with organic spring mix, fresh watermelon, house pickled cucumbers, roasted pistachios, balsamic glaze and lemon balsamic vinaigrette.
The best part were the burgers! We opted for their signature, The Whiskey Burger, which came with a special sauce, whiskey onions, & dill aioli. Instead of the meat, we substituted it for their gluten free vegan veggie patty, & enjoyed it on a gluten free bun. We also indulged in the Garden Veggie Burger, again with the gluten free vegan veggie patty, which is a blend of kale, corn, carrots, and beets, whiskey onions, sriracha aioli. All paired with sweet potato fries, we couldn’t believe we were eating so healthy!
We were all thrilled to be enjoying a great plant-based meal, perhaps also complementary to The Whiskey’s signature cocktails. To note, I had never had a veggie burger before, so we were all experiencing this new way of ordering plant-based foods at a gourmet burger place.

Our goal is to get Whiskey to the people! We want to allow guests to experience all kinds of whiskey and whiskey knowledge. We are looking to expand locations in the future as well.
I want our customers to experience the love we put into this place, whether it be through our food, drinks, or service, I hope they can take what we put into it. We have over 250 different whiskeys, bourbons, scotches, and ryes for them to choose from. Of course we also have a full bar and craft cocktail list as well. If guests are into burgers we have that too! We have our own house blend we use for our burger patties, and they are huge!” – Katie Walton.
