Art & Design
Ruddy Candillon is a photographer whose work carries shades of history—both personal and cultural—in its imagery. If you study an image, you may find within it the gestural quality of painting and the ecstatic imagery potentially reminiscent of his time spent at raves in the early ‘90s. Candillon’s art is in many ways representative of current culture. We’re at a point where the past and present blur beyond recognition—often forming something that appears entirely original. His work displays this inter-connectivity of new and long ago. Read Ruddy Candillon’s full interview here.
Iyanna-James Stevenson is a force to follow. Here is an excerpt of her exclusive interview as the cover of the Exotic Issue’s Creative Inspiration sector: “Iyanna The Model was a conscious decision based on what I wanted my main platform to be. Although I have been working as a model since 2012, I still found it to be easier compared to my other talents. And I felt that, that name would be a better display of my professional work. My acting experience, for example, has mainly been on stage. Since most people would expect an Iyanna The Actress to have countless examples of professional film work, Iyanna The Model seemed much more suitable. I think eventually, I will coin the phrase Iyanna The… and insert a profession or a skill to signify my expertise in that particular field. But for now, Iyanna The Model, who is also a dancer, actress, and bartender will do.” Read the full interview by Iyanna the Model here.
Fashion & Style
George Okoro is a lifestyle photographer based in Nigeria, covering the Fashion & Style sector of the Exotic Issue this Spring season. Much of the imagery we see on social media and elsewhere is not faithful to the reality of the moment. Often, the assumption is that life must be duller than the gorgeous, carefully crafted photos we are constantly inundated with, or that the moments portrayed are better than our lives. But, Okoro’s photography proves that there is nothing with greater depth and beauty than authentic moments. Read George Okoro’s full interview here.

Peter Ruprecht’s iconic photography covers the Pop Culture edition of the Spring/Summer 2019 Exotic Issue. Featuring Art with Me *GNP, Tulum’s First Art & Eco-Culture Festival. The co-founder, Jorge Mondragon stated exclusively for The 7th Magazine: “This festival was more than living in the moment, as some people don’t care about the effect of what happens after that; live the moment in the best way possible by taking care of yourself and taking care of your surroundings. That is how Art with Me *GNP continues to be credible & real, going the right direction to become world-class, with the messaging of sustainability. Delivering the right message with great content starts with having a conscious about yourself, the land, and to leave something for your kids to be proud of.”
