Sarah Jones is the CEO of Sprii – an online hub for mums to find whatever they may need, whenever they may need it. This entrepreneur is making strides everyday to grow her company while helping countless mums, one click at a time. Below is an exclusive interview with Sarah Jones about her sites & future plans –
You fell into the business world at the young age of just 14- how do you feel your early start benefited you as a business woman?
I think deep down if you end up being an entrepreneur, you were born with it in your DNA. For me, it wasn’t about making money, it was about “doing business” and from a very young age I loved the thrill of buying and selling and eBay gave me the platform to start. I think this excitement has carried through to my day job today.
How did you get into the business world at such a young age? What inspired you to get a foot in the door?
Prior to Sprii, I was working in Mergers & Acquisitions- I was always working for other people, advising inspiring entrepreneurs on how to grow and sell their companies and was always envious when they left the room. I wanted to be on the other side of the table. So, one day I decided to take the leap and now I’m here, loving my role and constantly excited by the growth and challenges that lie ahead.
What sparked you to create Sprii.com?
At Deloitte I came across a number of businesses in the e-commerce space, however in the “Mums” vertical there were limited options and a lack of availability of international products in the Middle East market. At Sprii we’ve launched the widest product offering in this vertical at competitive prices and an incredible Customer Service team who always go above and beyond.
Building a website and a brand isn’t easy; it takes a lot of behind-the-scenes effort to pull everything together. How was the process behind building Sprii.com? What was it like to build a website and create a brand?
“Hard work” in two words! I do however know that without hiring the team we have today this would have been virtually impossible- hiring top talent has been crucial to the businesses success.
What are your hopes for Sprii.com?
I want Sprii to become a necessity in the lives of Mums in the region- a platform they can’t live without.
Your site is the #1 destination for mums and you’ve been recognized for countless awards- how does it feel seeing all of your hard work pay off?
Incredibly rewarding and fulfilling on a daily basis.
What can we expect next from either you or Sprii.com?
A new mobile app, new brands, even faster delivery, new market expansion…. A lot’s in the pipeline.
