Get to know Ollia in these 6 fun questionnaires answered directly by the Queen of Fur Ollia Tzarina.
How did you get into the fur business?
I got into fur business by an accident. I went to Fendi and J.Mendel for a jacket, couldn’t find the one I wanted (I needed a pastel blue for an event), my friend’s dad owned a fur factory at the time and I asked her if they can make me one, I sketched it, they made it and it came out so stunning I shared it on my IG and everyone went crazy for it.
Where do you get your inspiration?
Everywhere, flowers, sunsets, my mood, movies. I love the golden era in Hollywood, so glamorous, I saw a photo of Rita Hayworth wearing a fur coat and I made something similar to it and named it ‘Rita’
What’s your design signature?
Pastel shades of all kinds, and contrasting lining made out of the finest silks. So if a jacket is pink my lining will be blue
How would you describe your customers in the Middle East?
They are so fun! They love love love fashion. They always order really cool colors as well. One client wanted her initials to be done in gold, so we had my jeweler do that for her. Generally these ladies are some of the most polite clients I get.
What is your #1 tip when it comes to styling a fur piece?
You should know your shape, if you are petite you can’t wear a jacket that is bulky, choose flowing shapes. I have a client in Dubai that wears hers with a cropped top and high waist midi skirts looks incredible.
What’s next for your brand?
I am launching Tzarina by Ollia ECO, I am literally obsessed with that collection!!! It is so utterly luxurious, faux fur fashion has not seen anything like this before. Every detail is handmade, I personally picked the most stunning and expensive materials. It is very high end, but very fun, for example Beyonce wore Tzarina’s neon lime colored jacket for halloween called ‘Speciale’, it was so popular I had it made in faux as well. The industry is shifting.
