There is nothing I enjoy more than traveling! Well, I could think of a few things, but doing those things while traveling is even better. I’m going to delve into what I believe plays a detrimental role in my self-appointed title as a “Citizen of the World” –
I was born in Puerto Rico, USA. on April 15th *year unavailable*. I spent little time there as my parents lived in Sint Maarten (SXM), then known as an island part of the Netherlands Antilles. SXM is 34 square miles located in the Dutch Caribbean, with a population at that time of 30K people, which has since grown + 10K now in 2017.
Growing up I spent most of my summers & holidays with family on the island of Curacao, where my mother is originally from. The language spoken there is called “Papiemento” – a Creole language containing elements of Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, English and French, as well as Arawakan and African languages. It is spoken by about 330,000 people in the ABC islands, which apart from Curaçao includes Bonaire and Aruba, also formerly from the Netherlands Antilles.
My grandmother had a farm there & since it was during the pre-internet age I would spend a lot of time discovering all things that nature had to offer. In my exploration I’d discovered many different plants, which were all families of the cactus, and this particularly interested me as it was customary for us to eat dishes made from them. My favorite dish as a child is called “Kadushi” / Cactus Soup. Another favorite soup of mine is called Guiambo, made from the okra flowering plant, & both soups are delicacies in Curacao.
Adding to my love for all things nature – my favorite place on the island of Saint Vincent, where my father is from, has the most beautiful botanical garden I’ve ever seen. It is a volcanic island, the largest of the Grenadines, located between Saint Lucia and Grenada in the Caribbean Sea.
I traveled most of the Caribbean when I competed with Tae Kwondo, so was able to visit extraordinary islands & even experience international travel to Europe at a young age. That’s when I realized the rest of the world was just a flight away from my island.

My family moved to Florida in the USA when I was 15 where I completed high school. Post graduation I had moved to California, where I was scouted from a modeling agency. I enjoyed behind-the-scenes more & began working in the fashion industry while there.
As I had this newfound business interest, I pursued to further my education in Boston, MA. I studied & graduated with a double major in Global Business/Business Management. The best part during Undergrad was my study abroad program in Australia in 2011. Surrounded by nature & its beauty once again, I was introduced to a mix of city + beach life on the Gold Coast while attending Bond University.
I graduated in December of 2012 from Suffolk University & left Massachusetts to complete my MBA in London, UK. I loved living in the United Kingdom as I was able to travel to places nearby such as the Netherlands, Spain, & Germany. I sadly only lived in Shoreditch of East London for about a year & a half as I simply could not adapt to the weather conditions there. I escaped winter & returned to the Caribbean December 2013 where I briefly worked setting up fashion events in partnership with the government until March 2014.
I had decided many years prior that I would spend my 25th birthday in Dubai (DXB) & that is exactly what I did. I landed in DXB on the morning of my birthday & celebrated life for an entire month. I fell in love with the lifestyle there so much that I ended up staying for 2 years. During that time, I launched my first company there & have been blessed to travel to places such as Greece & Italy for features in the travel sector.
My next move is Asia & I’m excited to be able to share my new adventures on a more personal note with you –
