Mat van Dalfsen loves music and his inspiration runs deep
Mat van Dalfsen loves music in a deep way. He is able to see the expressions of others through their music and he is inspired by this to give his music life. He goes in-depth on why music has such an impact on him.
Why do you find music to be interesting?
I just love the emotion that comes with it. Whether that’s happiness or sadness etc. It’s just got so much power even though it is something so normal and we all have access to it.
What do you try to do to get your songs to others?
I try to get my music across by posting links to it on my social media. And also I just tell people about my music when I meet them. Recently, I started to DM some influencers, hoping that they’re willing to share my music with their audience as well.
What inspires you the most on a daily basis?
What inspires me the most are the stories of others. Especially love stories, because that is something we can all recognize. I usually take certain parts of stories to create my own and translate it into music.
Have you performed at a major venue?
I haven’t performed at any major venues yet. Though I’d love to. I haven’t performed that much ever since I started making my own music. I used to be in a band playing guitar performing quite often. But since I just started as a solo artist, I haven’t build a big repertoire yet.
What kinds of responses have you received from your music so far?
The responses I’ve received so far are mostly positive. Sure, people might not like the genres, but most people recognize there is some quality in my music, even though I still got a lot to learn. What brings me the most joy is that most people are encouraging me. Even when they’re not the biggest fan of my music, they’re noticing I put a lot of work into it, which they appreciate.
Where do you hope to tour?
I’m not really thinking of touring yet because I’m still building up a fanbase at the moment, so I’d be happy if I’ll ever go on tour. But if I get to choose one country, it will probably be the United States.
