Interview by Megan Huxley
What are you currently working on in your music?
I work on my music every day, although it’s hard as I am currently tied up with a very demanding schedule, along with my residency at Kiki.
Has music always been your path in life? If not, what led you to it?
Since childhood I’ve been very in tune with music; I started to sing at church & would also perform during school plays. I also dabbled with the guitar for a bit… however things started moving quickly when I started familiarizing myself with two cdjs and an old mixer. That’s when the records began.
What is the most memorable show you’ve performed? Why?
Centro Gallego de la Ciudad de México. 2000 thousand people dancing with me. Very Grateful. I remember every minute and it was a blast of Energy.
During the process of creation, do you have a specific feeling in mind that you hope to convey through your music?
LOVE, FAMILY AND MY GIRLFRIEND.
Reinventing Culture aims “to help artists achieve product, shows, and promotion.” Can you describe the project, and why the name Reinventing Culture was chosen?
The idea began with Reinventing Records, so for 9 years before that, I conceptualized the band & its role within the music business, which didn’t work out the first time around. Since then I’ve been working with other promoters for several years, I discovered while working with other colleagues to change the name to ‘Reinventing Culture’ – as it felt more befitting.
Expanding on the previous question, the bio for Reinventing Culture on Twitter says “Creativity & Fear. Cannot Co-Exist.” For many artists, fear is an inevitable part of the creative process. Has fear never been a problem for you, or have you managed to overcome it? If so, how?
I NEVER QUIT. FEAR NEVER EXISTS
What advice would you give to emerging DJs and producers?
