What was your life like growing up? Did you always have an interest in fashion?
My story began since my second year at university which is 2 years ago.
At that time, I went to a wedding store with my sister to prepare for her wedding. I was overwhelmed by all the flashiness of these sparkling details, the softness of the lace together with these joyfulness I saw on my sister’s face when she tried on that wedding dress. That was such a beautiful scene that I could never forget.
Then something inside me pushed me to re-draw that scene to save the unforgettable moment as drawing has been my hobby since I was in high school. After finishing one, I want to draw more and more, especially these sparkle beautiful dresses.
One time, a video of models walking on runway passed me when I was surfing Facebook. That was the first time when I watch a whole runway show because I didn’t notice much about this sector before. Each of the dress was clearly different from each other but still follow a consistent theme, that made me excited when thinking that one design could be extended to different versions. And the models’ faces were cold but somehow really attracted. Then I thought why don’t I try to illustrate this kind of fashion. That’s when my story officially began.
Do you have any other artist that inspires you?
I really love the ballet girls of Edgar Degas or the extremely attractive paintings of Van Gogh, I love the fashion illustration of Megan Hess, Paper Fashion. They are so amazing and It always inspires me.
Most of your designs have an element of nature in them? Why is that?
Elegant, feminism, luxury is the three word to describe about my fashion illustration.
I am a gentle person, so I like women’s femininity, a little something elegant and luxurious. So most of my illustrations outline those things.
I have always liked a girl in a luxurious and noble dress, stepping out of a magnificent palace like a story about princess.
On your Instagram, you primarily show the gowns you have designed. What about gowns sticks out to you personally?
Most of the dresses I posted on the Instagram are a part of my soul and my personality, and they show my character and my instinct so it’s really hard to choose a dress that shows me who I am.
Have any of your designs become real life couture?
Most of my illustrations are from the runway, I just sketched them from the look that I love from the show of big fashion houses, so these dresses are from the real life.
Where do you see your designs going in the future?
I want my fashion illustrations to appear in major magazines and art books.
